This program will allow you copy your songs from your iPod to a PC, iDump does come wrapped in installer but you can simply drop the .exe in the root directory on your iPod and run it from there. Connect your iPod and run iDump and you'll have access to all your songs, select the songs you want to transfer then pick a destination directory and how you would like your songs to be named. And then sit back and copy all the selected songs to the PC.

Although there have been several shareware choices to allow you to copy songs from your iPod to your computer, the freeware field has been empty--until now.
iDump offers a clean, spreadsheet-style layout that displays all music on your iPod. That lengthy list can be narrowed via the search function. Songs can be organized by terms as familiar as song name or artist to the more esoteric year, bit rate, or even location on the iPod. The app displays the song's iPod path, cracking Apple's unusual file-saving protocol. A main window tab takes you to output options, and from there you just have to choose your songs and hit Copy. Clicking once on a song selects it, and there's also a smart feature that plays the song you've selected in iTunes. Clocking in at under 1MB, iDump is small enough to live on your iPod. We'll let you figure out why that's a good thing.
iDump does have some stability problems, and it doesn't automatically import backed-up songs into iTunes once they've been copied to your hard drive, a definite drawback. Those are small quibbles, though, compared to what you get for free

All-in-one media solution
The latest iteration of Windows Media Player adds a lot of useful bells and whistles, succeeding in many ways as a competitor to iTunes for Windows. A tree-style file directory makes it easy to find the music you want quickly, and a simple search box gets you where you want to go immediately. A five-star rating system lets you rate your music, then organize it by rating, so it's easy to group your favorite songs. Drag-and-drop functionality and a handy Create Playlist button take any confusion out of the process of making your own playlists. Creating the perfect mix CD is equally as easy--simply drag and drop songs into a Burn List in the right panel, then click Start Burn to finish. Ripping was reasonably fast on our test machine, and the program let us pick our preferred bit rate and audio file type.
The biggest new feature in WMP11 is the ability to sign up with paid music and video services. Without registering, we were able to browse various sites and compare prices among services including XM Radio--all from the Windows Media Player interface. We like the new, cleaner look, and the back and forward buttons make it easier to navigate. The ability to sort music by year released makes for some great reminiscing. Overall, we think the latest Windows Media Player offers almost everything you need for every type of media, making it a solid choice for an all-in-one jukebox.
